Hi,

I've noticed shuffle machines mentioned in some posts. For exmaple, a recent post is:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=2011820&page=0&view=c ollapsed&sb=5&o=2&vc=1

The posts are a little ambiguous about the effect of the machines, but imply that shuffle machines can alter their long-term win-rate. I thought the new shuffle machines were very good at randomizing the deck.

Can anyone explain the effect of the shuffle machines, and what one should expect? For exmaple, are they better or worse than hand-shuffling.

Thanks

The higher win rate corresponds with the fact that shuffle machines speed up play, thus increasing the number of hands dealt per hour.

I am guessing that you are joking, but you should check out MindPlay. Here is an informative site.

Ah. Of course. Thanks. I must think more laterally...
