Good job, go get em. Just logged on to watch before I head to bed. I'm already in, the more 2+2'ers the better! 'Stosh

I'm in as well. GL

slickpoppa

the blinds are at 600-1200, and I have 39K, so nothing is guaranteed at this point

MLG

dont let yourself get blinded down a lot here. Open raise about once an orbit, but be very very very leery of calling reraises. Standard pot odds don't apply. Don't call pushes getting good odds if it jeopardizes your chip position. Remember you just need 16th, its the same as 1st. Maintaining the stack is more important than growing it.

Be confident, you can do this.

Hey slick, which Arlington are you from? GL.

sirio11
03-28-2005, 12:33 AM
the best play right now is the reraise, in this time is really, really hard they call you with less than AA-QQ,AK

Good luck

Arlington, VA. I think I remember reading that you are as well. We should get together for drinks sometime. I don't really know any 2+2ers.

Drinks will be on me if I make this thing

You're gonna need somewhere in the 50-60K range to just fold your way in completely. In the meantime, though, you can mostly afford to wait for hands.

Don't loosen up or tighten up too much - your normal game is fine - but above all, don't get yourself into a situation where you have to call a reraise.

Peter: If you could be stranded on a desert island with any woman in the world, who would it be?
Quagmire: Taylor Hanson.
Joe Swanson: Taylor Hanson is a guy.
Quagmire: [Laughs] You guys are yankin' me. "Hey, let's put one over on Quagmire."
Peter: No, he's actually a guy, Quagmire.
Quagmire: What? That's insane. That's impossible.
[Pause]
Quagmire: Oh god. Oh my god. I've got all these magazines. Oh god.

By the way, if you're stealing I think MLG's trademark 2.5x is optimal in this case

adanthar

Scratch that - with them going out this fast you can almost definitely fold in now.

Don't play a hand without two queens, kings or aces in it and you are in.

LethalRose
03-28-2005, 12:54 AM
down to 20 you got this easy

yecul
03-28-2005, 12:54 AM
Yeah, fold on in with only 4 left to go out. Snag a steal or two on the button or catch a big hand.

ZBTHorton
03-28-2005, 12:54 AM
I'm not so sure.

No offense andathar, I think he still has some work to do here, players are going to not play anything when we get to 19 or so. It will likely extend things big time.

^^ not only that the small stacks have about 7-8BB so they are not desperate yet.

once the blinds get up to 2k we'll see how it goes

Better to be proactive than reactive here. A couple 2.5-3x BB raises will keep your stack even while everyone else waits it out.

Did you see that QQ v. A5s hand on the other table? My point stands /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

There are three guys below 15K and at least some of the big stacks don't know enough to fold in. When the tables combine this one's all but over.

(and as I'm typing a guy with 40K defends his blind to a shortstack, nice)

Next time don't raise on the shortstack /images/graemlins/tongue.gif That is a *huge* problem if you lose that hand...

but grats on the WSOP /images/graemlins/smile.gif

bb against the short stack sb - woulda been to end it...

Love looptroop play, creating that short stack to begin with - the power of the reraise....

InchoateHand
03-28-2005, 01:32 AM
Looptroop should be everyone with more than 30ks hero---preventing a fold-a-thon, singlehandedly.

AawwzNutz is doing a pale imitation of looptroop.

slickpoppa
03-28-2005, 01:43 AM
this is taking much longer than I hoped. All I gotta say is Aawwnuts better go all-in against sharky's BB

cwsiggy
03-28-2005, 01:45 AM
Why is Awwnuts taking his time on each play - it's hand for hand.

Lurshy
03-28-2005, 01:46 AM
I think awwnuts was working to make the blinds go up b4 it got to the short stack. it worked...
