monitors and refresh rates

is there any reason to set my monitor to a refresh rate lower than it's capable of?

I believe you may be able to get higher framerate on some games with a lower refresh rate, but I always set it to the highest possible for the resolution.

The higher the refresh rate the better. Lower rates cause eye strain and headaches.

This is what I thought...I wonder why they give you the option to set it lower...
