View Full Version : Fat Burger

My Sunday mornings consist of scratching my ass, getting out of bed, taking a shower, reading 2+2 for the weekly wrapup of stuff I didn't have time to read, washing my car (in the summer, I rarely do it in the winter), and going down to Fat Burger for a King Burger with Cheese. I alternate between Fat Fries and Skinny Fries every other week.

Why do I do this weekly ritual? Because not only is Fat Burger the closest thing the east coast has to In & Out Burger, it makes me so full I want to go back to sleep within an hour.. making Sundays complete.

Mmmmmmmmmm FAT BURGER!

Use the fat Voltron..... use the fat. May the Fat Burger be with you, always.

Take the WTC path to Jersey City. 2 block walk. ITS WORTH IT!

Alternate sollution: The burger joint in the Parker Maridian Hotel on 57th street. yum..... the ultimate greasey spoon in the middle of a posh hotel. Bo wonder why the lobby always smells of raw meat.

I have eaten about 20 different local places way better than what they serve at Fuddruckers. A burger there is way over priced anyways.

I wished I lived on the West coast so I could east at In&Out and Fat Burger.

I am often torn between the Fatburger and the Astro burger around the corner from me, they are both so good. It's the same Astro burger that Hilary Swank ate at after the Oscars - I guess if it's good enough for her, it's good enough for me. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

West Coast burger chain. I believe it is in CA, NV and AZ. Their burgers are the best.

Local small time places make the best burgers. Fat Burger is an 8/10 on my scale.

Edit: After thinking for a minute, I dropped it down a bit.
I'd say In 'n Out is about 8.5, maybe a weak 9/10.

The only thing that makes FatBurger stand out in my mind is the fried egg option, which is a really sweet option.

Shadow, All-Pro (and probably all-county his senior year) tackle Willie Anderson just opened Atlanta's first Fatburger franchise. Its down on Piedmont south of Buckhead as you near I-85. However, if you want a hamburger, just go the the Vortex.

Agreed. That said, there are times when Fatburger seems like a really good idea. Until last June I lived about a mile from what I think is the only drive-through Fatburger in existence (next to USC). I'd usually be driving back from lab around 9 or so, which often meant either going there or to Philippe's for the french-dip lamb+blue cheese sandwich.

Philippe's > Fatburger. >>>>>>>>. >. >>>.

Dammit, now I'm hungry.

I sir, am a hamburger fan. I have tried hamburgers all over the world, I've hand the best and the worst of it (the worst far more often). With that said, Fatburger is the best fast food burger you can get on the east coast. The in & out is spectacular, but not available yet out here.

For the record, the best burger to dat is the lamb & goat cheese burger at Compass (2 blocks from Players Club in NYC). The Peter Luger burger is out of this world, as is the "Ye Ol Steakhouse" burger. Next time you are at the Borgata give it a try, I don't know if it is as good as the origional NYC location, but that is utterly fantastic.

You shouldn't judge In & Out from just one restaurant. I've been to many In & Outs and most are delicious, however I have experienced a couple bad ones. It's like this with any chain. That being said, I've only been to one Fatburger, and it was just OK. I'm open-minded to the fact that the majority might be better.

1. in and out is way overrated
2. I know in VA there is Bullets. Also know it's a chain. Best meal I've ever gotten through a drive through. Seriously incredible. Not sure if to even call it fast food. It's fast but its sooooooo good.

JaBlue
03-29-2005, 04:43 AM
In and Out isn't that good. Bullets is the best east coast burger you will get bar none. And no, it's not even close. Also if you're looking for a west coast burger better than In and Out, Nations will do.

brassnuts
03-29-2005, 04:58 AM
I grew up in Vacaville, CA. There was a Nation's there, and it was pretty damn good. However, they are pretty hard to find.

Obviously it MUST be medium-rare, but I think that is a given. Perhaps we need to refer to a high authority, he happens to live next door. Brad????
