3 handed......button folds.....
I am in the SB with J8o.......

Raise or Fold or Call?

What would be your reasons for each of the 3.
I can start you off.....but hopefully someone can chime in and give more reasons.

Playing shorthanded tonight....my opponent would defend his blind.....from a raise about 50% of the time.....I figure a raise would be best here.

How should I play it?

Does the constituion of a raise or call depend on the opponnent you are playing against?

The most important things to consider are:

1. The likelihood that your opponent will fold pre-flop

2. How well your opponent plays post flop

I may have the order mixed up.

if he will fold 50% of the time you should raise almost every time. fold a few times so he doesnt start calling more.

If your opponent only defends 50% of the time then you should raise every time with every hand... you are on a freeroll.
