In CW's new book[great read BTW; no technical content], he has a fascinating section on cheating and scamming. Most of the book has a fairly light-hearted tone, but he's pretty serious in this section.

Upshot: CW sez he's seen just about everything. He sez he's spotted cheating many times; he either kept playing[cuz he sez most cheats are bad players], or left, sez he's "not one to to blow the whistle". On occasion he'd demand his money back from the cheat after the game. One time a cheat[Jess Simpson?] he'd 'caught' in a prior game later played at the old Am Vets game in Dallas while CW was out of town & didn't know the guy was there. Won 20K, then later mailed CW a chk for 5K[as a thx for not pulling his card in the previous game], with a note saying there were some real "lulus" in the game.

Also, CW sez that the higher you play, the more certain you can be that someone's trying something; minimum two guys playing best hand.

FWIW. Again, great book, esp. if you like rodeo or road gaming.
