So lemme get this str8

Lets say blinds are 5/10

So i already have 10 in the pot then. If i wanna raise to 50. (I only put in 40)
So then player 3 has to either call 50 or MINIMUM raise it TO 90. Or Above.

Its been bugging me all day. Is that right????

ALSO lets say blinds 5/10

I already put 5 in the pot also. If i wanna raise TO 5o.(I only put in 45)
WILL The minimum raise be 95. Or 90???????????????????????????????????

IN scenario one, I am assuming you are the BB as you have ten in the pot, so yes, if you want ot raise it up to 50, you place out 40 additional. THen, anyone that wishes to raise you must put in at minimum an additional 40, to a total of 90, or more, unless they are all-in for less.

If you are in the SB, as in your 2nd example, then yes, you would put in an aditional 45 to make it 50 to go, but it is still only a raise of 40 more, as the first 5 was to bring your amount in the pot up to the call of 10, and the additional 40 was your riase, so any raise after you would again have to be for a minimum amount of 40 more, or a total of 90, again, unless the player is going all-in for less.

No.

If you're sb, and you bet 45

5 completes the original bet (i.e., calls the BB) and
40 is a raise.

So anyone else can raise 40.

Now, let's take it one step further. You're sb. BB has bet 10, and Dealer raises to 35 (i.e., a raise of 25).

Now, you want to make it 50. Answer -- not a legal bet.

You need to bet 30 to call, and the minimum raise would be 25, so you have to raise to 55, if you want to raise at all.

so if im SB(5) And i want to raise it to 50

LOL, nope

SB bets 5
BB bets 10 (minimum raise is now 10)
SB completes, and raises 40 (50 to go)

Next raise would be 40 (or 90 to go)

wat if the SB is 5 and the BB is 10 then the minimum call needs to be atleast 5 more to make it to 10???

BB needs to raise to 20 the minimum

Confusing??

OK i figured it out

Les say SB5 BB 10

so that means

I want TO raise TO 50

So i put in 55....5 to call 50 to raise..

Then for everyone else the called or checked. The min raise is 90

IS THAT RIGHT??????????????????????????????????????????

Lets make this easier to grasp. The min raise will be the amount of the previous highest raise. It does not matter what the pot holds!

okay is this right

SB 5 BB 10

Everyone called or checked now its my turn and im SB

I want To raise TO 50 so i put in 55 (5to call the BB)50 for the raise. Then its a raise of 40

So now the a MInimum raise is 90 becuz .it was a 40 raise.

Do the math.

You have put up 5 in the SB
The BB has put up 10.
Let's say everyone folds to you.

Your options:
Fold
Call by adding an additional 5.
Raise. You say you want to make it 50, which means add 45 more, but only 40 of that is a raise of the initial wager of 10, as you still owe the 5 to make the call (45-5=40).

Now, if you raise, making it 50 to go, that mens it is an increase of 40 (50-10=40) for the BB, so that means you have only raised it 40.

Now, the BB's options are:
Fold
Call by placing an additional 40 in the pot (10+40=50)
Raise. As your raise was only 40 additional, his raise must be at least 40 more, so the least he can do is make it a total of 90 to go, which is 40 more ot call your raise and another raise of 40(10+40+40=90)
