assume that you just sat down at a 5/10 6max game and have no notes.

when ample votes are tallied, id appreciate it if some of the SH specialists here could discredit the incorrect votes.

if you arent familiar with shorthanded play, or you are uncertain about several of these hands, please do not vote. it will skew the results. ive left the view results before voting option so that the unsure players on these forums can appeciate this poll without skewing it.

also, i would be interested in getting a better sense of whether the experienced players on these forums prefer raising with some of these hands, or merely limping behind.

It depends a lot on the limper(s) and the blinds. I can say though that I'd limp very very rarely in the first two situations.

i voted limp with most of these suited connectors and one gappers.

i also voted for the qto as a limp, but the more i think about it, the more likely I would raise this puppy with one limper.

I don't see any point to raising a lot of these hands on the button after limpers (97s, 86s, 76s, etc.).

im quite surprised to see that most people here value 78s over T8s and J8s over Q8s. i would have valued the latter over the former.

justin is my idol.

A.) You have pretty good equity
B.) You can often take a free card on either the flop or turn
C.) You can sometimes win the pot with a flop bet (sometimes it takes both a flop and turn bet if a looe player peels the flop)
D.) Sometimes you can knock the blinds out, which makes B-C much easier to accomplish.

Not saying it's always right but there are benefits.
