Well, all year everyone was singing their praises. It's not like there's some predisposition against the Big East. The Big East has been without a doubt the single most disappointing conference in the tournament relative to seeding. That's a fact, and it doesn't matter how sick of hearing it you are.

But now you are seeing that the Big East is deeper than some think.

WVU was on the bubble 1 week before the Big East tournament. They knew that they had to win probably 2 games in it to have a chance of getting in.

A lot of people had them losing to Creighton in the first round.

If they succeed in knocking off Louisville, then they will add another top notch team to their list of victims. Louisville probably should have been a 2 seed, and Wake Forest made a case for a #1.

Since nearly everyone had them as the best conference in the country coming into the tourney and none of the 3 teams seeded 4 or higher made it even to the sweet 16, that's basically an impossible statement to make if you desire to have any of your little remaining basketball credibility left.

Syracuse played an awful first round game. It was probably their worst game of the year, and it had to happen in the first round of the NCAA tourneys. SU had an uncharacteristic number of turnovers. Hakim had 10 alone.

All teams have bad games.

BC got run over by Milwaukee but BC was still a very good team this year.

And lots of people had UConn going to the Elite eight at least.

I don't care about my basketball credibility on here, man. I'm just saying what I believe.

I don't think that the Big East conference was overrated. I think the Big East proved that it can play with the ACC and maybe the Big East will get a chance to prove it against the Big Ten as well.

Here's hoping for a WVU/Illinois title game.

They just took it on the chin from a team that shot 18/26 from 3, and did it having to play the last 9 minutes without their best player, and with their 2nd best player barely being able to walk. Even though I had Louisville picked to the Final Four out of that region, I was very much rooting for WVU. That team was fun to watch; that team also had heart (despite blowing this game). Their game against Wake Forest was one of the best games I've watched in a very long time.

I just came from the game, and WVU played extremely well - they were seriouslt undermanned compared to Louisville, but ran a great offense until Louisville just gave up on the zone and pressed - still WVU could have won, but it wasn't a "collapse", more of an awesome comeback; in the arena, most were struck by how long WVU hung on...

You misinterpret what I've said. I said before the Washington game that all objective evidence suggested Louisville was the real deal but I wanted to see them win that game before I conceded it. I have nothing but respect for Pitino's team and did even before this game.
