View Full Version : 3 sets in one session--did I get all my money in well?

I had three interesting sets in a half hour time period in the same session while I was 3-tabling. I managed to get all my money in as fast as possible in all three hands. I was wondering if I got that money properly, or if I could have played these better.

Thanks.

I wish I had better reads on my opponents, but all three hands were within my first 30 minutes multitabling and I didn't have these players in my poker tracker database yet. Assume all villains are semi-loose pre-flop, and aggressive post-flop if they think they have a good hand. None of them appeared to be maniacs, habitual bluffers, or tight pre-flop.

Hand 1 - I flopped set & got all my money in on the flop. I thought I played this well enough. I can't see folding my set here. Can you?

Hand 2 - I flopped another set & got all my money in on the turn. Should I have been more concerned on the turn reraise than I was? I glad to get my money in when I did. Should I have been more cautious?

Hand 3 - I decided to try something a little different than usual with AKs preflop. I wanted to try limping in hoping to catch a deceptive pot in which my big, suited cards might be a surprise if I caught a decent flop to someone with either a flush, straight or top pair with a worse kicker. I planned to give it up easily if I didn't connect well on the flop. I hadn't done this before. Comments about whether this is ever a good idea at all, as a means of mixing up my preflop play, are welcome.

My pre flop play is questionable at best. I would have had a much better hand if I'd just raised preflop.

Post flop I thought I got my money in ahead of most opponent's hands. And, to be exact, this isn't really a set, but I did flop three Kings with a deceptively strong Ace kicker.

Comments?
