...and I don't recommend it. I don't think there's any solution to this problem except for either never shaving again or always shaving. On a side note, the schick quattro delivers 4 times the closeness with only 2 times the razor nicks; definitely +EV.

I still don't think you can beat Mach 3 Turbo. If only the damn blades didn't cost so much...

you gotta trim it first so it's only like a weeks growth, then shaving is fine. you can't just attack the bush raw with a razor

Oh I trimmed it... it was down to stubble before I shaved it clean. I'm guessing it should probably be attacked more like mowing the lawn, where you're never supposed to cut more than 1/3 the total length at a time.

I always like to take a shower before I shave. I think it really softens up the skin and makes things smoother.

Just got to make sure to wash your face again after you're done. Some shaving balm always helps too.

That's the problem. One that doesn't give you nicks leave you with stubble and the ones that don't leave nicks rip the hair out.

This is kind of funny to me, because I do it the exact opposite way. For me, shaving after taking a shower leaves my skin feeling raw and gross.

Do you need a clean shave? If not, you can just use a beard trimmer with the lowest guard/no guard or clippers without guard, which will leave you with just a little bit of stubble. This is what I do when I don't need to be clean shaven but don't want to look completely haggard.

Have you tried shaving in the shower with just soap? That works well for me.

I was doing this for quite a while, but I've got an engagement party tomorrow, and my fiance doesn't want me to look like a bum (even though I look better with stubble).

The problem isn't the shaving or not shaving. The problem is that you suck at both.
