I've been meaning to pose this for awhile but forgot, thanks to the guy who just made that "Add on" post.

If you have 3,000 in chips by the first break, an add-on is an obvious must. If you have 30,000 chips, adding on is clearly not optimal.

Where's the middle ground?

it depends on the following factors: 1) amount of people adding on 2) prizepool before and after add on 3) average stack before and after add on.

With this info I can tell you.

Didn't Fossilman have a post regarding this and came up with the point of having 10% of all chips in play is where he would draw the line at adding on?

When does adding on become -EV?

When your arrogance and your economies collide.

Seriously, it is rare not to add on. Let's say 10X the starting chips? Or how about 8x? Yeah that sounds better 8x. But I'd really hate to think later on how I could have won if only I had...

Just seems like bad karma not to add-on
