View Full Version : A question about Roulette for Mason, Ray, or ...

Do you know any good reference about the history of Roulette, and why the layout is designed as

it is ? It seems that some interesting mathematics (combinatorial design theory) are

related to it, but I do not know of any reference on this.

Jason, with regards.

A wise man once said..."If you want to know something, just type it in Google"...I did that and here you go.

good to see you are still around jason.

i cant help much but i remember they are layed out such that adjacent numbers add up to 37 i think. with the zeros across from each other. it would be interesting to see the relationship. but i also wonder if its been changed from the original way for some goofy reason as many casino things are.

Thanks all who responded to my question about

roulette. Some of my students might be interested

in the mathematics (combinatorial designs) connected to the design of the

roulette layout, and we would like to know what are available in the literature so that the wheel

is not reinvented.
