But how badly did I play it? The flop raiser I had down as "betting weak, when weak" and being too loose. His flop raise I therefore interpreted as a strong hand; top pair or two pair.

Seat 1: Ringburn ($2,079 in chips)
Seat 2: SnatchFoo ($3,159 in chips)
Seat 3: kuivabo ($2,292 in chips)
Seat 4: Wake all in ($1,420 in chips)
Seat 5: Weathermans ($2,927 in chips)
Seat 8: So crates ($1,450 in chips)
Seat 10: ME [2D,3D] ($1,673 in chips)
ANTES/BLINDS
So crates posts blind ($50), ME posts blind ($100).

PRE-FLOP
Ringburn folds, SnatchFoo calls $100, kuivabo calls $100, Wake all in folds, Weathermans folds, So crates calls $50, ME checks.

FLOP [board cards AD,4S,QD ]
So crates bets $100, ME calls $100, SnatchFoo calls $100, kuivabo bets $300, So crates calls $200, ME calls $200, SnatchFoo folds.

TURN [board cards AD,4S,QD,8C ]
So crates checks, ME checks, kuivabo bets $400, So crates calls $400, ME calls $400.

RIVER [board cards AD,4S,QD,8C,5S ]
So crates checks, ME bets $873 and is all-in, kuivabo calls $873, So crates folds.

SHOWDOWN
ME shows [ 2D,3D ]
kuivabo shows [ AH,10C ]
ME wins $4,346.

Pot: $4,346
Ringburn, loses $0
SnatchFoo, loses $200
kuivabo, loses $1,673
Wake all in, loses $0
Weathermans, loses $0

Not great, IMO. If a diamond comes you will either, not make much money or lose a lot. The 5 is the only thing that is really good for you. I'd fold on the flop.

I was getting 5:1 on the flop, so I think the flop call was OK. THe only thing I had to worry about was a raise from the people left to act. SHould I have raised the flop, or perhaps the turn?

I agree with the other reply. It looks like So Crates is on the flush draw which means u lose all of your outs but 3 (5d=no good). His flop bet looks like a semi-bluff and his turn call of 400 MUST be a flush draw, unless he's a total fish...bc how could he call 400 on the turn w/o drawing to a monster, even a set here he'd HAVE to raise with so many draws on board. The flop call isnt terrible, but you admitted urself that you're betting into a possible raise...and you did in fact. The turn has to be folded IMO...you were most likely drawing dead.

At this point you can't really just say your pot odds are 5 to 1. Implied and Reverse Implied odds dominate.

You are only on a draw to a hand that can be beat by any other draw. Fold is they way I play it. I could imagine good players who either bluff here or call to set up a bluff, but not to chase.
