Hi all,
A few months ago I decided to make a startingpage with all my favorite threads at 2+2 and some other useful websites. At the time I made a post about this in the general forum so you might have seen it before. I've added some more threads/sites now, but I still have to read a few more threads that I marked as interesting. I will probably read them in the next week or so. Most of my favorite threads are about strategy because for me that's what's poker is all about, becoming a better player. Of course there are a lot of funny posts and I read those too, but I don't put them in my favorite list because in the end you won't learn much of them. Since I play only shorthanded at the moment, I decided to ask in this forum if you have any gems or good threads/website that I should read. Preferably about shorthanded but full ring is great too. If you have some funny websites or threads please let me know, I love to read those too but I probably won't put them with my favorites. Just have a look at what I have so far at:
www.poker.favos.nl (http://www.poker.favos.nl)
Enjoy!
Thanks,
Guido

Most of my favorites are either on the site already or buried far deeper than my weak search abilities allow me to delve.

Great site Guido, I've also had it bookmarked for a while. Some potential additions (unless they're there and I missed them):
(1) Software (free) to calculate odds against a range of hands (unlike twodimes which only handles specific hands). I use PokerCalculator (http://www.PokerCalculator.com) which I like a lot, but I think PokerStove (http://www.PokerStove.com) is more widely used around here.
(2) Links to starting hand charts. The first chart I used was from King Yao (http://archiveserver.twoplustwo.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=&Number=666420&page=&v iew=&sb=5&o=&fpart=). This thread has some nice comments from HUSH luminaries.
(3) Nemesis 6 max guide (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=1215269&page=&view=&sb=5& o=&fpart=all&vc=1) Some overlap with your stuff, but not entirely. Includes a link to MEbenhoe's starting hand guide and Nate's stop'n'go explanation which is a favorite of mine.

Hi Spider,
Thanks a lot! I've just added the software links. I already had an odds calculator under poker statistics but with the one you gave, you can do a lot more so I deleted the other one. I've added pokerstove too.
I didn't add the starting chart because I think everybody has a different style and should figure out what suites him the most.
I had already read Nemisis' thread and didn't think those threads added a lot. Most of them seemed too basic.
Thanks a lot for those thread again!
I hope other have some more good threads/websites.
If you see a broken link or have any other suggestions please send me an email/PM me or say it here.
Thanks,
Guido

Hey Guido - Great site!
For more threads I recommend you search the 2+2 archive server for Ulysses posts in hush, many of them are real gems.

Yes, another good suggestion. Is it possible to do this directly, however? If I search for user Ulysses, it never turns anything up (I guess b/c Ulysses changed El Diablo). So I have to go to a bookmarked Ulysses post, then click Ulysses, then click show all posts.
So, is that how you do it, or is there an easier way?

go

and type in Ulysses for newer than, say, 4 years.

Well, yeah, that's pretty much what I've been doing. And I shouldn't have said it never works for me, because sometimes it does. But it usually doesn't work for me and I don't know why it does sometimes and not others.
Anyway, I only seem to have this problem searching for Ulysses posts so I assume it has something to do with the fact that it is not a current user name and how the search engine code is written.
Eventually all searches will be out-sourced to Google, right? Well, I hope so anyway.
