I sell CDs on eBay and a buyer emailed me this question. I'm not into this genre as much as I should be so anyone that can give this guy some suggestions I would appreciate it.

I have a quick question. I'm really enjoying alternative/underground rap music but have very limited exposure
to sources and friends/family are not into my music. I have collected almost all of MF Doom including Operation
Doomsday and KMD; Black Star by Mos Def & Talib Kweli; Hieroglypics 3rd Eye Vision and Binary Star of course
but hoping...when time permits...you might be able to offer a short list of "must haves" and really tight CDs for
adding to my music collection....any suggestions would be appreciated!

I know groups and artists. I mean classic albums. Not every album released by those artists is classic.

I'm surprised siccjay left out the sickest Kentucky Hip-Hoppers around. Darrel & (my other brother) Darrel.

a few off the top of my head:

organized konfusion "stress: the extinction agenda"
common sense "resurrection" (should be a given, but just in case...)

i won't make a long list unless you want more. the above two are without question essentials though (for someone with that guy's taste in hip-hop).

i just reread your original post, and since he's into hieroglyphics, souls of mischief's "93 til infinity" is an absolute must.

I'd tell him to get some Del (preferably old Del, but he'd probably like Deltron too if he doesn't have it).

He could grab the old Soundbombing comps if he can find them, if he's into those (1 and 2 especially) he can pick artists from there.

Pharoahe Monch - Internal Affairs
Company Flow - Funcrusher Plus
Prefuse 73 - Vocal Studies & Uprock Narratives
Roots Manuva - Awfully Deep
Handsome Boy Modeling School - So, How's Your Girl?

Those are just a few that come to mind from that nebulous sub-genre.
