Villain seemed fairly passive after about 30 hands.

Game was tight, so PF raise is fine here.

How about the river? Anyone just call here, since this guy's passive and the only hand that makes sense for him is a set? How about calling the 3-bet? Is that just terrible?

Yeah, I don't know about the river raise. It's pretty hard to put a passive player on a hand on the turn that isn't a set.

So I don't see a reason to raise the river, I think you wasted two bets there. I'm not good enough to fold to the 3-bet, but he's not scared by the ace, so it's probably a fold.

I literally said to myself, Ok, I'm going to raise, and fold to a 3-bet. Somehow I couldn't go through with it.

I just started reading Feeney, who I think talks about this stuff. It really is a terrible leak. I counted about 5 BB in my 4-hour session today with this and similar hands. Bad, bad, bad.

Unless the game was ridiculously tight, I don't think this is a profitable PF raise UTG. You will be dominated far too often.

I think this is a good spot to raise the river (make him pay off with a worse 2 pair), but fold to a 3bet. If you are incapable of folding to a 3bet (due to your feelings about this BB), then don't raise in the first place.

I play it the same except that I fold to the river 3-bet. But, I fold too much. However, here I think a fold has to be correct. He's passive, and he doesn't care about that river A.

I don't get the subject line though.

Thank you. From looking at the book preview (Amazon pwns) I can already tell I will really enjoy this book.
