Other than Felicia Lee, PartyGirlUK, Lorinda, and Granny Mae? there don't seem to be too many female posters on this forum.

What % of posters with more than 50 posts are female? Are you female?

Felicia Lee is the only in the OP that one can be sure is female. Lorinda maybe, Granny probably not, partygirl definitely not.

Maybe the % of woman playing on the internet is similiar to % of woman playing in an online casino but I don't think the % of woman playing in a casino is equivilent to the ones that have decided to post on an internet message board on poker.

I can't see how any female posters could enjoy posting on OOT.

At the risk of being flamed, I think this is a pretty obnoxious environment for a female to 'hang out' in.

Yes. A lot of debate. The overwhelming majority of 2+2ers are INTJ, a personality type that is mostly a male type. The very act of getting together in discussion groups to analyze is a male behavior.

i'm a chick, and it was funny - when i posted a story about a date i had been on, everyone just assumed i was a guy. the advice i got about scoring and banging chicks and having people think i was the man was awesome.

I beg to differ. The percentage of female poker players you would find at a casino would be greater than that of this forums because I think more females just go to a casino to waste money and there are not a high percentage of serious female poker players who would post in this forum...

I don't know for sure. Good question.

I think that the bottom part of the poll is likely accurate; about 6%.

Wow. And there isn't a huge number of GUYS who just go to casinos to waste money???

The biggest difference <font color="red"> I </font> know of is that the women who go to casinos to waste money don't usually go around afterwards bragging about how great they are (or at least their gambling skills), and "that if there hadn't been so many bad cards..." they'd have won a lot, or that they ALMOST hit a progressive slot machine, etc...

I've lurked here, off and on, for about two years, and finally registered yesterday, so I could post a comment. I'd guess there are a lot of gals like me who come here, but don't feel a need to to make posts, so you never know about them, til something brings them out of the woodwork. (For me it was the "Fish Forum" thread... /images/graemlins/tongue.gif)

Oh - and I'm not an INTJ, either - ENXP over here.
