View Full Version : "Official" Live at the Bike thread (3/23)

Kevmath

According to their schedule, tonight is the first time they're showing the 30/60 game, tomorrow night they won't be so "live" as they're airing the final table of the "LIPS Tour" held on Sunday. Mixed somewhere in there surely will be Shirley Rosario's second headsup match with a player.

When are they going to add last Saturday's episode to the archives? I shelled out 15 bucks, and it's still not up yet...

Kevmath

I'd guess it's towards the end of the week, or you can harass the gang there on your next visit to the Bike.

Hey kb

You gonna head back again sometime? I might go this saturday, but I can't make it tonight.

Sparks

Yeah, I paid my $15 too, still waiting for last Saturday's event. I emailed Rick N, and he said he forwarded my request to the right person.

30-60 tonight? Woo!

For those with the archives, when it first started up the selection was minor. Are almost all episodes now available (like the 2 Big game nights and the Raymer NL night?) ?

Jive Dadson
03-23-2005, 10:05 PM
It's 6:08 and I don't see anything. Tap, tap, tap. Is this thing on?

Here's some horrifying news: The play tonight is the best we've seen in two weeks. Move to California, but don't expect to see this kind of action in No. Cal. (danggit).

Per Bart..."Mr. Lee is a tight player" This is the same guy who was raising 66 in EP with like 5 players and calling raises with J8o.

Bart, change your notes on Mr.Lee.

TimTimSalabim
03-23-2005, 10:55 PM
Yeah, you guys have that outrageous cost of living up there too. Clearly, the best place to live if you're going to be a pro is down in SoCal.

i think i'll probably make it out on saturday. when i saw tonight was 30/60, i was intrigued, but i've got to go see a band play tonight, so no go......the game looks really good right now too:/

Kevmath

It's 3/6 chips using $10 chips.

Kevin...

Shanemex
03-23-2005, 11:17 PM
The SB is 2 chips. Most of the 3/6 games I've played have 1 chip SBs.

Jive Dadson
03-23-2005, 11:18 PM
Bart, it is still not always possible to follow the action, because on the small screen you can't always tell how many chips they put in.

Think of it as the poker equivalent to the final drop shot at splash mountain. I'd much rather pay 15 bucks to see 4 hours of my play with players I regularly face than the same price for an out of focus picture of me screaming with some guy's hand blocking my face.

I would probably be willing to pay even more than that if they'd give me a burned DVD of the session right when it finishes.

first post ever! great job on a great program. im totally hooked.

i just wanted to add one more poster who likes the table talk (doubt im the only other one). dont get me wrong, the commentary is one of the best parts of the show.. the table talk is just a great feature. so there are officially two of us now.

This illustrates why I think all the poker advice that's based on what kind of player your opponent is is not worth a hill of beans of moderate size. Here are two players that professional Bart has played against without benefit of seeing their hole cards, and in both cases he was mislead about "what kind of player" they are.

Kevmath

They're in their now nightly 30 minutes of "table talk", they should be back at about 8:45.

Kevin...

Kevmath
03-24-2005, 12:33 AM
If you want to watch it in the browser, it's IE or nothing. Also I think if you use WMP, you have to use version 10. I've used WMP exclusively, as I get a much larger picture and it's easier for me to move around while I do other stuff.

Questions for Denny and Bart: Sometimes these players play crap hands. Are these players true gamblers, or could they be true poker professionals. Another question: Is Seat 5, Grace, a professional?

Kevmath
03-24-2005, 01:04 AM
He called because he didn't realize it was a raise until it's too late, then when the flop came with an A, that pretty much sealed his fate. But it's good to know he actually came out ahead overall in that 30 minutes.
