View Full Version : Hollywood in Aurora Questions

Last time I checked...

Hollywood offered 1-5 stud, 5-10 HE, and 10-20 HE daily.
The only games they offered above 10-20 were:
20-40 HE on Thursday starting in the evening
15-30 O8 on Friday
25-50 O8/Stud 8 on Mondays that broke quickly
2-10 stud on Thurday during the day.

The room closed early on Friday and Saturday, and operated with limited capactity later in the day on those 2 days.

Is this still the situation. Any updates appreciated, especially regarding games 15-30 or higher which are not hi-lo.

Thanks in advance.

Dan Z.

Dan, they are closed on the weekends now. that started in like february, or so. i haven't played there in about a year, so i don't know. go to Harrah's in east chicago, Indiana. 80E to Cline ave. N exit. to Pastrick Marina exit (you'll see the boat by this point). they have more tables than hollywood. they have 1-5 stud, 2-10 stud, 4-8/5-10 HE (weekdays is 4-8 w/ half-kill, weekends is 5-10) they have 10-20, 20-40 HE. sometimes higher games like 30-60 O8/S8. they used to have a 50-100 HOSE game. i haven't seen it in a while. every once in a while they have a 2-10 Stud8, and a 5-10 O8. some other scattered games and limits, depending on demand.

Do they card you at the door at these casino's? and does anybody know what they do if you are underage and they catch you... namely if you have chips on the table.

they card. sometimes. it was very spotty when i would get carded, and when i wouldn't get carded. i look young enough to get carded, but old enough to make you think twice about carding me...

if you get in, and you're underage, be careful. i doubt highly that once you're in they will think twice about how old you are. just make sure that you never mention the fact that you are younger than 21. and, look confident when boarding. don't look the security guards in the eyes. i find that everytime i look them in the eyes, they card me. don't even pay attention to them. its their job to stop you, so make them do their job. dont pay attention to them, and act like you belong in line to board a casino. i can't guarantee that this will work for you, but it seems like any time i act nervous at all, or look a security guard in their eyes, thats when they card me. i don't know how old you look, so it may be pointless.

play at your own risk. and don't play anything that you can win and have to sign something to cash out. because then you'll lose. just stick to the tables, and get up and cash your chips out normally when you're done. once you get past security, it shouldn't be a problem.

There is no way you'll get into a Casino is the Chicago area/Greater Indiana. I once got carded three times before I even made it to the boat. Your best bet is to check in the Home Poker Forum for a home game near you.

Mikey's advice is solid. your best bet is a good home game, until you're 21. but, you won't ALWAYS get carded, so it is possible to get in. i have friends who've gotten past security before who were underage. it happens. but its likely that you'll be carded, so why even bother? unless you have a damn good fake.

i went to Empress in Joliet once, (was about a week before they closed up their poker room...) and was carded. but then they took my id, scanned it into their computers along with a digital snapshot of me. they were pretty tight there.
