This (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=1983773&page=0&view=colla psed&sb=5&o=14&vc=1) was on the internet forum. A CRT at Best Buy big enough to 4 table without overlap for $30 after rebates.

Awesome.

However...1600x1200 on a 19" = eye death.

That still amazes me. Do your eyes have built-in magnifying glasses?

I have a 19" (monitor) and it's not bad, it just takes up my entire desk, there's no way I could add another and 8-table. I'm waiting for the 5-figure bankroll before I spring for the 2001FPs.

I have a 19" too and I just can't do 1600x1200. I just feel like I'm horribly abusing my eyes. So I prefer dealing with overlap at the next resolution down. After 3-tabling on a 13" laptop screen, almost any overlap seems super-mild.

What about a 15.4 inch laptop at 1920 x 1200?

/images/graemlins/smile.gif It hurt my eyes at first but they have quickly adjusted and I love it.

I was gonna say the same thing...

It's not too bad playing limit, but it can be tough on some to read the bet amounts on a 19".

but $30 is quite the deal.

Could someone please explain how to change the resolution?
Thank you.

go to your control panel, click the display icon, on the SETTINGS tab, there should be a slider. If you have less than a 20" viewable screen, push your face right up to the monitor.:)

Why wait when you could be making more $$$ with a better set of tools? You are going to buy it anyways, so why not just go for it?

thread hijack alert :

And am I the only one who thinks the Dells are overrated? Sure they are cheap, but you a much better picture and bigger viewing area with the Samsung 213Ts. And they can be had for about $200 more. In the grand scheme of things, it's not all that much. I know mine have payed for themselves many times since I got them.

You can get to the settings faster by right clicking an empty space on your desktop.

Where are you buying the samsung for under 700 bucks? The cheapest I have seen is just over 900 which is getting pretty close to the 24 inch dell. The colors are slightly better but when playing internet poker, I don't really care. Samsung really should be upgrading that panel (it is like 2.5 years old) with something with a better response time.

I didn't realize the Dells were so cheap. /images/graemlins/blush.gif I got my Samsung's for $800- $100 rebate - $50 from CompUSA around the beginning of the year. They aren't running anything right now, but I'm sure they will soon.

I've owned a 2001 and my pops owned a 2005. Side by side there is no comparison when viewing DVDs and games, plus the Samsung's screen size is considerably larger. And don't let the Manufacturer's response time stats fool you, the 213Ts are quite a bit faster from what I've seen...

But you're right about it not making a difference for poker. I just think that the difference in $$$ is paltry in the grand scheme of things, especially when we are talking about expected return..

okay maybe I just dislike Dell /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Because I've gotta buy two. I've got this whole symmetry thing going on.

Are you 8 tabling already?

SuitedSixes
03-23-2005, 10:58 AM
No, but I would if I had two monitors big enough. I have the 19" CRT that I play poker on, then I have another computer with two 17" LCD Dells that I run Media Center 2005 on. The 19" is so good for 4-tabling, but the two 17" don't have high enough resolution.

Are you going to 8 table the 20s before you 4 table the 30s?
