View Full Version : I'm trying to call fewer all-ins. Was this the right place to do it?

This is an awful fold. I call here every time and expect to see Tx, A7, a middle pair or a flush draw the vast majority of the time.

EDIT: I'm stupid.

It is highly unlikely you were behind on the flop given the action in the hand. You need to call this.

What did you put the button on that led you to fold? AA-KK seem unlikely given the PF action as does any 2 pair hand. Looks like you got played by a flush draw or A-10 to me and you were getting pretty decent odds on your call considering your ahead here most of the time.

For what it's worth, Button kindly showed his hand after he scraped the pot: KK.

I often fall prey to calling in this situation and losing to a higher pair. I take it I'm just experiencing a statistical anomaly?

Or confirmation bias, selective memory or a number of other psychological things that make it very hard for us to properly digest antecdotal evidence in a statistically sound manner.
