We are 8 handed and it's folded to me in SB. I have A/8 and make standard 3X raise. BB pushes. What range of hands would you put this guy on? It's early and he hasnt done anything remarkable so far.

Igor-

A8o is 39.5% against any pair, suited broadway, and any ace except A6o-A2o.

You need slightly more than 40% to be profitable here, so ask yourself: do I think his hand range is better or worse than the one above?

There's no way to know for sure, but the fact that he hasn't done anything out of the ordinary would make me think that his range would be this tight or tighter most of the time, so I fold.

If he seemed to be a little loose or could be on tilt, I probably call.

Later,
Che

Thanks for the input Che. My feeling is that since it was a blind battle, the range is wider. Also, A/A or K/K he probably wouldnt push as hard heads up but I suppose you still have to include that in the range.

So how much should I widen the range since we are heads up and both in the blinds?
