i've been wondering about situations like this?
Should I be pushing these or not. I dont feel like this is a great chance and would rather wait until the button to push with a worse hand even.. wouldnt the chances of being called be much lower ?

You don't want to push here. The blinds are way too low for you to be pushing with 55. Even though you are the short stack, there's still lots of time left. Don't panic.

His stack is ~19BB. Why in the world would you push?

If you get called, it's either a race at best or your dominated. You don't need this kind of risk for so little reward.

The blinds are small. This means your reward for taking them down when you push is small. It's not going to make or break your stack size at this point in the game. You have time to wait for a better position - and by better position I mean both a better hand and better position with regard to how many people are left to act.

When pushing with a hand like 55, if you get called, you are either a coin-flip or way behind. What makes up for this, is all the chips you make when you don't get called. In this scenario, you are risking 915 chips if you get called, and only winning 75 if you don't. That just isn't good enough.

Is limping bad here? That's what I'd do.

I dont think i like the limp, your only really gonna play if you catch a set, and you arnt getting the odds for that, what would you do if raised? IMO this is a leak

You're right.

You have to fold to a raise. Best case scenario is that you hit your set in a an un-raised pot AND double up. In fact, you have to (nearly) double up when you hit your set to make this a good play. Not very likely. Consider me educated.
