I should have made a stab at it on the flop. I haven't played online in about a week. I also wanted to know any opinions on the size of the bet. I eventually adjusted back to online, and proceded to win. But I could have played a bit better and not needed as much luck in the end. BB is a solid player by the way. He had pocket 8's, with the eight of spades. He took it down cause I never shook him from his hand.

I think you played it fine, You took a stab at the turn and it didn't work out. You didn't lose that many chips. You could have bet again on the river, but its hard to put him on 88 and you could have easily been called

When you raise preflop, don't bet the flop with position, but bet the turn when a 2 not connected to anything hits, it makes someone with 88 think he is ahead. Once you don't bet the flop, I think you should check on the turn. You are not going to make anyone who is ahead of you fold.

I think it is necessary that someone mention that most of us here would fold pre-flop.
