Detroit is hot right now. They are on a winning streak while the Cavs are doing terribly and their coach was just fired. Every game is important in the East. Also Detroit's defense will shut the Cavs down and additionally, the Cavs really have no quality wins. They rarely beat better teams.

Cavs are 24-9 at home and beat Detroit by 13 at home at the end of November.

That was back in November when everyone thought Detroit sucked. Now look at them, they won the last 6 of 7 games, currently on a 5 game winning streak. Detroit is one of the hottest teams in the East along with Miami and Boston. The most recent quality win for the Cavs was against the Nuggets back in December (not so recent), and you can even argue that the Nuggets weren't that great a team because that was before Karl became the new coach. So as you can see, the Cavs are just not good enough to beat better teams. Yes, they are a good home team but not good enough to beat detroit, keeping in mind that the Cavs are actually favored for this game.

I'm wondering why in your analysis you didn't mention that Richard Hamilton is questionable for this game. That factor certainly plays into why the line is where it is.

Will add my plays tonight to this thread rather than start a new one, as I don't have time for a written explanation. Been distracted with NCAA Tourney. Time to get back on the horse.

1. Phoenix/Atlanta under 217 1/2: If Phoenix really is going to try to improve its defense, this is a good matchup to start.

2. Jazz -1 Lakers: No Odom for Lakers. Like the Jazz off a long road trip to break the schneid. Kirilenko may dominate.

3. Bucks/Sonics over 197: think this one goes over irrespective of Seattle injuries. Bucks don't stop anyone and the folks Seattle will plug in can light it up.

Good luck everyone.
