I started out recently playing the 5+1s to build my roll, was doing great & all of a sudden am struggling. I've lost 10 of 11. I've had a few other similar streaks lately. I know that's not bad compared to some streaks, but at the 5+1s, it seems pretty awful..any advice? Here's a recent hand on the bubble.

Interesting bet to go all in. What was your read on the SB? I bet UTG had a big smile on his face when you made your play.

He had been a very weak chip leader, I stole a lot of blinds to stay alive. I didn't want to just raise 3x here, since it was close to half my stack, so I thought the best move was to push it. He called w/ A9 btw.

Also, should such streaks in the 5+1s be expected for a decent to good player? My ROI was 23 & ITM 48 for my 1st 100 5+1s & then downhill. I know it's a small sample, but just didn't expect to hit a wall on the 5+1s.

That would have been a fine play against the medium stack. The big stack (especially this big stack, who has you covered by 3200 chips) is too likely to call you. The short stack is also likely to call you.

simply put, the push was out of line, and is indicative of other similar plays that contibuted to some of the 10 OTMs.

Your goal in this situation (bigstack, 3 smaller stacks) is just to not bustout. Not to steal blinds.

Realize this: YOu have position on the SB. He has allowed you to see the flop for free. Take that opportunity.

If you flop well (namely pairing), THEN you can choose to go to battle.

It's been said before but it should be said again: don't play $5 games at Party. That 20% rake is vicious. Stars has the 10% rake and I'm sure there are some other sites out there with the better price.

Good point. UB is 10% as well.
