Just wondering if anyone had some advice on which sites are the best, and how much money is good to start with. 2/4 or 3/6. Any suggestions

general rule of thumb here has always been 300BB
pokerstars and partypoker have the most players, and thus many bad players who dont know what they're doing

I know it's a dumb question, but is that big bets or big blinds? I think it's 300 big bets, but I want to make sure.

I recommend using the search feature on the forums for questions like this. They've been handled a good number of times.

Second this. I'd suggest starting at 0.5/1 even if you've got money for higher. Also you don't need 300BB (BB = Big Bets) if your bankrole is replenishable, 100 is probably plenty. Take advantage of bonuses (Party is much more generous than Pokerstars in this respect). Buy PokerTracker.

Beginners forum is probably better place for your post.
