does anyone use these? if so, how convenient are they and what program do you use to run them?

it's great for avoiding the 'click the same web sites 800x per day to check for updates' trap. i use thunderbird, mozilla.org's standalone mail client, to read them.

I've tried several, and so far Thunderbird seems the best.

yes, and it does that much better than outlook, imo. no calander included, but i think there's an extention available with one.

All the time. I use bloglines.com. I use Firefox, but using bloglines gives me the ability to see my subscritions from any computer if needed.

I use Sage with Firefox, works great. On a related note, wouldn't it be grand if they added RSS here?
