fix for bugs in the AleoMagus spreadsheet

I'm not entirely sure I'm working from the latest version of the sheet (SUPER SNG w UI.xls), but I've fixed some bugs and I was hoping to put together a list of known bugs and fixes.

The one I took out was a miscalulation of hourly rate when multitabling. The fix is a little tricky for those not familiar with spreadsheet software so I'll not post it until I'm sure it's a problem everyone has, and not just me. Anyone else find any bugs? Fixes?

I remember your problem from before. I'll take a shot at diagnosing it tonight. Something makes me think I ran into the same sort of problem pertaining to the hidden cells.

OK. I think I've got it figured out. I'll call any two tabs that go together SNG and STATS.

How to insert cells.
1) In The SNG tab, you will need to expose columns U:Y (":" means through and inclusive). Do this by manually typing "U13" in the cell navigation box in the upper left corner. It's the box that always has the name of a cell in it. Go to Format>Column>Width and enter 15. Repeat for columns V, W, X, and Y.

2) Insert additional rows into the SNG tab. Do this by selecting rows 730:762 (the whole row... make sure you're selecting with the "-->" cursor and not the "+"), right clicking, and selecting Insert.

3) Highlight cells in row 729, columns A:Y. Drag the formulas from row 729, columns A:Y, down to the very bottom of the data entry section, which should now be row 795.

4) You will have to do the same procedure as in 3), but to the STATS tab rows 1180-1207.

After this I'm not sure if the data calculation will give correct numbers, but it should give SOME numbers rather than errors. There's some other funky stuff I noticed while typing this, but try that and see if it gets you closer.

Since there are 5 tabs with different money amounts is it possible and easy to change the buy in amount in the other tabs so wach tab could be for $11 games instead of 11, 22,33,55, 109, etc?

I'm a tinkerer as well -- in fact, I got nuts with the thing and decided I wanted the actual stakes on the tabs (instead of SNG1, SNG2, etc.). Hours later, I got it working, but it was a bear. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I haven't checked the hourly calc, so I don't know if I'm running into the problem or not -- what specifically did you see wrong?

In general, you can change any cell in the AM spreadsheet that has a grey background without fear of screwing anything up. Cells D5:D8 and G4:G8 can be changed to your desired buy-in and prize structure. In fact, you should change the buy-in and vig to 0 for any tab you aren't using.

Record 500 games under the $11 level as I have been doing and then change the SNG 2 tab numbers to the same as the other and keep fliing in that 2nd tab with $11 games also.

Then I will have seperate stats for each 500 tab of games which would be kind of nice. I can do this rather easily can I not?

The hourly calc didn't correctly account for multitabling because it didn't add the date to the start time for a particular tournament. Basically, every entry in column Y in a SNG tab was 0, save for the first few. It would give something like 4-5 hours no matter how many tournaments were in there. Does your version have this bug?

1) Correct overall SD to ignore DIV#0 errors for sheets with no tournaments entered.

Who wants to help me with the automatic recording VBasic macro, since I'm too young to know Basic? Since I somehow managed to break it in the file where I've made all my other fixes, I was hoping somebody could just take that file and repair the macro. Once this is done I think we'll have a fully functional version of the AM sheet + UI.
