Maybe I went a little nuts on this one. I'm trying to wratchet up the aggression a bit, and I didn't want to give a free card if Villan was on a draw. No read since I just sat down.

Yeah this one of those with no reads you pretty much feel like you have to call down and you pretty much expect to lose. From time to time you'll split.. and maybe once in a blue moon you'll win but most of the time you'll feel like you put in way too many bets and just feel lost. Look him up and make some adjustments for the next time.

I think I'd check-call after the cap on the flop.

"and I didn't want to give a free card if Villan was on a draw. No read since I just sat down."

I see hands played like this alot- you need to look at the whole hand in general. YOu have a solid hand on a draw heavy board- to avoid giving a free card you bet out, and three bet the raise. now he caps.
if you check the turn and he checks behind, Has he gotten a free card? No- you have suceeded in costing him more than it would have if he had just called the flop and turn bets alone waiting to improve. While you are sometimes giving a free card on the turn, you are also often betting into a raise that you seem to commit yourself to calling down. IF you caould call the turn raie and fold the river unimproved, i would like the turn bet. Otherwise i got into check mode on this turn.

Villan has AK and takes down a nice pot.

Thanks for your comments.
