No reads on SB. Was the flop bet totally unnecessary?

and you can fold, but its not true that you will be raised the majority of the time or most of the time, much of the time you have the best hand and won't be check-raised. This guy coldcalled form the sb and check-called the flop, he has crap quite a bit of the time and checking the turn without a good draw just hands over the pot nearly all of the time.

more than 70% if your opponent is not very passive.
They put you on big cards (not pairs) and want to represent their trash pair/trips/flush draw (and it's often a bluff of course).

what subset of players are "not very aggressive"?

better yet, what percentage of sb coldcallers who check-call this flop are "not very aggressive"?

good point there, if he's aggressive, he would raise the flop. I usually check/fold in these situations, which I believe is extremely weak.
