PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t6000 (5 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

This is a Super Satelite to the WSOP, 10 left 5 get seats to the $615 Main Event Qualifier.

To me this overbet tells me he has some piece of this flop, but really doesn't want a flush draw coming along. I suspect that he hit a pair with a straight draw, or 2 pair. Is that a reasonable read? Do you make the call? I think I can fold it home if I win this pot, but that is a big chunk to call. /images/graemlins/confused.gif

1) What are the stacks at the other table?
2) You are faced with calling ~63K to win ~95K. You are a favorite against a pair and an overcard (depending on whether he has an overcard diamond), and have a coniflip against a pair and a straight draw. You are a 2-1 dog against the unlikely 2 pair and a 3-1 dog against the even more unlikely set. If you lose you will still have a pretty healthy stack. If you knock him out you will be in great shape. So yes, I make the call.

Its not an easy fold...its not an easy call...really depends on other factors for me but im leaning towards calling.

at first i was thinking it's a fold, but i'm reconsidering. there is a chance he has 5x or a smaller diamond draw and you're actually ahead now. and there's a pretty good chance your overcards are good, in which case you're a favorite to win the hand. you're going to need to get more chips to win a seat - maybe now, when you're getting a nice pot odds overlay with a reasonable hand is a good time to take a shot.

My thinking was very similar, I thought my J and my T were good, as well as my flush, so I called. He shows me 2 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif , for a made straight, with an OESFD. My 15 outs suddenly became 5, but the beautiful 7 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif came on the river to bail me out. You would not believe the table coaching I recieved on this one, so I just wanted to check my play.
