Buying gold

Is this a wise or foolish investment? I'm considering buying some coins and/or bars. Would the potential return of other investments make gold a poor choice? Any thoughts?

For any investment you trade EV for variance. AFAIK Gold is low variance. You are best off trying the stock market forum.

I could be wrong, but I think gold has an inflated price now because of the weak dollar....

i think you would have to buy a lot of gold to ever show a good profit.
