I have been thinking up situations that I think are difficult at each level when you are short stacked.

Here are 4(as in the number four, not "for or fore" but four) scenarios that I made up(completely fictitious)...

Hand Number 1
You often see 2-3 BB raises(at the 25/50 and the 50/100 levels).

Players:8 handed
Blinds: 50/100
Position: Big Blind
Hand: King Queen Off Suit
Chips: 500 left(400 after posting)

Situation: There are 3 limpers + SB who completes.
What is the play.

Hand Number 2
No read on any players

Players: 9 handed
Blinds: 50/100
Position: CO
Hand: A-8 off suit
Chips: 600

Situation: UTG+1 limps(1800). BB has 900 and SB has 1300
What is the play.

Hand Number 3

Players: 10
Blinds: 50/100
Position: UTG
Hand: Q-8
Chips: 350

Situation: Your turn to act.
What is the play.

Hand Number 4

Players: 7
Blinds: 50/100
Position: BB
Hand: 22
Chips: 500(after posting)

Situation: It is folded to SB(350 after posting) who pushes.
What is the play.

i'd probably push here. sometimes i'd check, depending on my mood, but probably i'm closing in on 100% push here.

1. PUSH (not close)

1. Easy push.
2. Fold - I assume a lot would play this or push.
3. Fold and pray for a hand before being blinded out. Are they suited????
4. coin toss time, call the push.

1. Push
2. I used to push but now I fold a lot of these as people are being weird and limping like this with ak,aq,77 etc and calling all in this is at $10+1
3. Fold 10 players at 50/100 AHHHH I have seen it though
4. Call, very little fold equity if you fold your small and big blind

1) Check. I doubt you'd get 4 folds if you pushed and KQ is 45% to win at the very best if you get called. Push a K or Q-high flop.

2) Fold.

3) Fold.

4) Call or fold. It sucks either way.

True you will very rarely get 4 folds, but you would be pushing getting 2:1 if called by one limper, and you double your stack if by some miracle everyone folds. Still don't think its right but just something to contemplate.

Hand 1: move all-in
Hand 2: see hand 1
Hand 3: fold, you can do better than Q high within the next two hands
Hand 4: call, you will need to win a race in order to win the tournament. 2s are a descent had facing 2 randoms from the SB.

1) Check. You get called by Ace medium too often here. See Slim's answer.
2) Fold. This is why I hate early position limpers. Not enough fold equity.
3) Fold dependant on table style. If the table is very aggressive and you are nearly certain this is your last chance to open a pot it might be a push.
4) Call and hope he has a 2 in his hand.
