I think this is an easy push. You probably either have all three players either dominated, or you're getting good money if they have PP's. I'd be most concerned about UTG. Also, you only have 6 BB's, not that it really makes a difference in this situation.

Pushing is much better than calling, as you get to see all five cards anyways and you charge all players if you wind up winning, as opposed to just charging one or two players sometimes if you just call.

Is anyone going to fold to your re-raise (I can't tell, for some of them the pot odds dictate a call however it commits them to the hand)? If not, then how about putting the second half of your stack to use and pushing on the flop? You get to act first...

I think I might be obsessed with stop-and-goes.

don't think he has enuff to make anybody fold...unless they had a suited connector or something.

So the only play is to confuse them...665

Do you mean it's not enough to make people fold preflop or postflop?

It's definitely enough to make at least somebody fold postflop, but if people will fold to the raise preflop then pushing preflop is the way to go.

post-flop...its 1/3rd of the pot...and the guy is all-in. i'd think any PP would call and most big aces (though he's beating them hehe) any anybody who caught any piece of that flop.

look, some stupid people might fold preflop.

also, you most likely own a pretty decent equity edge. oh, and oh yeah, you can't wait for a "better" hand. so you push. wtf.

what's all this [censored] about analyzing other plays. seriously.

If everyone will call both preflop and postflop then what's the difference between pushing preflop or on the flop?

I think pushing on the flop surely will deny at least one person the turn and river.

I understand the idea of raising leaving yourself 5 chips, but can't we accomplish the same thing by pushing the rest of our chips on the flop instead of hoping someone else will bet?

Degen

lol ya, make it 665...then push the rest on the flop

ZebraAss

NOOOO...dont push on the flop...make them bet to give some one a chance to bail...betting 5 will get you no where.

kdotsky

No I understand this. You leave yourself 5 chips and keep checking. Someome might bet to put you the rest of the way all-in, and in the process knock another player out.

I'm saying, in this situation, why not accomplish this yourself instead of hoping someone else bets. You flat call the raise preflop, and bet your last 300+ on the flop.

I read that entire thread before this one started, and I think the idea is brilliant. But I think the situations presented in that thread are different. What you're saying is raise all but 5 chips. Someone might bet 100 (that's the min bet here) on the flop to put you all in. This might cause one or more players to fold, causing you to have to show down with that many less hands.

If you just flat call preflop, instead of *hoping* someone bets 100 on the flop to put you all in, you can bet 300+. For one, you don't have to hope someone else bets, you do it yourself and it's a sure thing. Secondly, it's a bigger bet than they would have made and you might make *more* people fold. I think in this case calling preflop and pushing the flop is the better option.

The valid argument I can see against doing the stop-and-go is that if you raise preflop, the original UTG raiser could re-raise you, and people would fold preflop.

I change my mind. I agree with kdotsky.

I raise to 665 now and it's not close.

Why? Because the guy behind you will sometimes push.

ZebraAss

But... /images/graemlins/frown.gif

PS: I am going to stop having an opinion because I change my mind too much.

EDIT: How could it not be close. They are both very liable options to react to this situation. "5" chips...trying to get them to bet(probably wouldn’t work best in this situation IMO). Cold call....ehhh.

I change my mind...I say 665 BECAUSE of your position.

kdotsky

I agree. Regardless of what UTG has, he wants people to fold just as much as you do - plus if he has half a brain he knows calling will commit him, so he should push to make people fold.

Possible 4-way all in at the $100 level? Crazy... now I'm curious about the results...

ZebraAss
03-21-2005, 03:21 AM
Yea...another disadvantage to just calling is that the original bettor does not have the opportunity to push.
