View Full Version : 2 inquiries: places to play in Vegas, San Diego

Inquiries apply to low-limit (4-8 and below).

Have an upcoming trip to San Diego and wondering if there is a cardroom scene over there, and if so are the cardrooms worthwhile?

On another note, going to Vegas soon as well and wondering where 7S HL is offered and where it is best. Also interested in the best places to play Omaha HL and Hold'em at low limits. I'd say with the H/L games I'm most interested in playing against ploppies.

For Holdem I'd probably prefer not to play against the weakest competition (but not the strongest either). A nice middle ground might be nice with players who are by no means strong but understand poker well enough that reading hands actually does some good.

TIA.

played once at Ocean's 11 in Oceanside. the 40-80 is great if you can read hands.

Oceans 11 in Oceanside is the place to play hold em. They have 8-16 with a kill and 20-40. Clean, well run room and the food is great.

Echoing below, I'd say Oceans 11 is your best bet. Lots of low limit games (there are always numerous 3-6 and 4-8kill HE games, as well as LLO8 if you're interested), very friendly staff and players, and fully comped restaurant-quality meals with only 2 hours play.

O11 is a cardroom only (except for a small blackjack and pai gow area); if you're interested in playing other casino games as well, you may want to check out the Viejas and Sycuan Indian casinos.

Cool, thanks! I will actually be at Sycuan. I filled out a parlay card for a buddy that won a promotion to go to some tourny out there, so I'm getting a free trip out of it.

Hopefully I can make it over to Ocean's 11 at some point.
