I was playing in a live tourny yesterday and I found myself in the following situation:

blinds 100 / 200, everyone folds to the button who calls, I throw in the 100 to call with Kc 2c, BB checks, Flop is kd 10c 2h rainbow. Button bets 400, I raise to 800, BB calls, button folds.
Turn is As, I bet 1200, BB who has been a rock thus far in the tourney, thinks for a moment and goes all in(he has me covered). After some thought i decided to fold.
Was this the wrong decision?

Impossible to say without knowing the chip counts. But you should have raised more on the flop if you thought your hand was best. Top and bottom isn't usually a good hand to get cute with.

Average chip stack was about 5500, I was at 6000, rock to my left was about 7000.

I would lay this down here in an unraised pot unless you had a very good read on BB. I see 2 many people go broke on this type of hand flopping 2 pair on what's now a coordinated board. I would live to fight another battle.

I think you have better than 50% to beat him.
If he's really a rock he's checking trips on the flop. Chances are slim that he also has a king. He probably made that first bet with absolutely nothing. The all-in could correspond to a straight draw, something like QT. There are just too many hands he could have that you beat to fold.

you've already put 1/3 of your stack in. i think you've got to call and hope.
