I was going to call down unless a diamond fell, which one did. Should I fold the flop? Thoughts?

Be weary of preflop coldcalls and flop raises.

Do you have a read on this guy?

No read, unfortunately. I'm new to the table, I didn't have any hands on him yet. I thought about folding the flop, and ultimately decided I couldn't just give up that easily. A read would have been quite helpful.

What am I missing here? Has there been a vast increase in the number of floaters at the table recently? Or are you saying that people like to coldcall with AA and then ram and jam the flop?

Noo, I'm not saying it's a sign of strength necessarily. I think this play has a higher likelihood of being a bluff than others.

It's not worth calling down, either way.

Not that its of any significance, but interestingly, I saw 3 people limp with AA yesterday. Two actually took a few bets off me, but I made up for it by killing the other guy with a flopped set on a ragged board.

Lately at Party $1/2 I see alot of either, cold calls with big pairs or limp/reraise with big pairs (preflop).

I wouldn't fold the flop only because I don't want to be seen as a folder. It smells like you're beat though.

BTW, did you observe his play later on during the session? If so, what kind of a player did he seem to be?
