It's a tight table where it was folded to the BB a couple of times. Thus limping with KK in hoping to get action post flop.

No reads on button.

I bet 3/4 pot to make it expensive to chase the flush draw. when he called, i put him on a Q or 44 since players at 50+5 usually don't raise and call a re-raise with 4x.

there's also the slim possibility that he might have AK /images/graemlins/club.gif

How's my line?

And should i have check/call on the turn instead?

It seems fine to me, except preflop which I think is HORRIBLE.

If he has you beat hes gonna put you all-in anyway. You need to bet if he is drawing to the flush or has a Q.

Seems like a good example of a bet that might be -EV if called but is much more -EV if you are the one calling.

That said, I think in this particular case its a pretty +EV bet since I think AQ is high on his list of possible hands. And the only real hand to be scared of would be QQ (or possibly 44).

i don't think it's too bad at a later level, but i much prefer to open raise here.....

besides that it's fine

what do i put him on? flopped quads of course /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

1) oh man... didn't even think of him having QQ /images/graemlins/shocked.gif

dont know why i thought of 44 as a possibility but qq never entered my mind? /images/graemlins/confused.gif

i mean i shouldnt even have thought 44 since at 50+5, people don't raise with 44. they limp in for set value.

2) yeah i should have at least min raise here at this low blind level. thx

3) check/call isn't a good play on the turn:
- if he has me beat, he's going to put me in anyway
- if he doesnt have me beat, then i'm giving him a free card since he's likely to check
- it's better to bet out in this case
- thx

Now what if he limped preflop instead of raising? Then what would you do on the turn if he called your 3/4pot bet? if he limped on the button, he could have a4, or 45s.

would check/fold on the turn and river be out of the question in this case? i would still have 400 chips left.

I also dislike your line here preflop, but I don't like to get real tricky with KK.

I would think the most probable hands he could have are QQ or AQ.
