When I am calculating pot odds do I take into account the money I have already put into the pot?

For example, in hold'em if I have called a $10 bet pre-flop which has resulted in the pot increasing from $50 to $60, and then I have to call another $10 bet after the flop, are my pot odds 6-1 or should I subtract the $10 I have already contributed, thus giving 5-1 odds.

It's not your money anymore. It's the pot's money. So you count it as part of the pot.

And you definitely don't take it into account by saying, "Well I've put $10 in already so if I don't stay in the hand it'll be wasted."

It's gone. The decision to put the first $10 was good or bad, but it's already made. The decision to put another $10 in is for all intents and purposes independent of the first decision.
