How many BB should I have to play a tight-passive $10/$20 game and how BB do you think I need to play in a loose aggressive $20/$40 game. Live, not on the internet.

It doesn't matter whether or not it is live or online. Do you see why?

The answer to both is minimum 300 bbs and many would recomend more.

Im seriously tired of hearing about all this BR stuff....If you have a job other than poker your BR can be whatever you want it to be, if your doing poker full time then yes BR is important. I am sure the Kids grinding out the 1-3 hold'em at turning stone do not have 900 dollars. I know I don't have adequate bankroll to be playing the 20/40 at TS, but I also go to college and have parents that still support me If I lose say 2 or 3k I'll quit for a while.

People who play seriously don't lump all their money together. We have bankrolls with money set aside just for poker/gambling. This is a good way to track how well you are doing and if you have a bad session you don't have to do without food until you win some money.

50-100BB's if you want to cover most eventualities, though 30-50 is cool too.

Excuse me? Excuse me, sir? Can I borrow $100? I just busted out on the poker tables but I've got 2 more days here before my flight home....I'm really a winning player, I just hit a bad run of cards....Oh, well how about $50 then?....Wanna buy a laptop for $300? It was $1200 retail....

to suggest that someone needs a full 300BB just to sit in a game is false. 300BB just offers you the best balance between low investment and high protection from risk of ruin. I stand by my original standing.

But yeah, back on the drugs. PCP IS GREAT!!!

25 to 35 big bets per session

300 to infinity big bets for a bankroll

Bankroll defined as the stash of money you use soley for your poker playing

it depends how much you're beating the games for

That is not correct. If you are an advantage gambler in other games (e.g., blackjack or backgammon), there is no problem if you use the same bankroll. Your risk of ruin stays low if your bankroll would be adequate for each game individually. Similarly, your bankroll requirement does not increase if you play multiple tables.

Deepends on how many times a week are you going to play. Same difference as playing 1 table online or 4.

It really depends on how well you play. It may be the case that you could do pretty well the 10/20 game with a modest bankroll of maybe $6k, but should not play the 20/40 game even if you had a fat bankroll of $40k.

Fair enough. I know what you're saying here. I guess I know too many people who err towards under-bankrolledness than the opposite.

Nice. But you stay at the 1/2 tables while you're on that stuff, y'hear?

Whoops, so it is. Hmm, maybe me being dyslexic and playing poker are a bad combo?

Why play a tight-passive 10/20, when there are so many better games?
