with florida a close second.

now i am not talking about traffic (new york, boston etc.) i am talking about the pure inability to drive.

i am in arizona for a month or so and the third day here i was rear ended by an 88 year old man who said he saw my turn signal and my brake lights but flat out told me he just didnt stop in time. why are these old people allowed to drive!!!! i like old people and all but they should not be driving.

then today i am riding with my roomate and we get t-boned (luckily at the back of the car) by a 76 year old lady who ran a red light. i mean someone is going to get killed!!

anyone else live anywhere with terrible drivers? or is arizona and florida (lots of old people) the worst places to drive?

The population density just pwns you anywhere you go. The GSP especially.

but do you have a combination of old people going dangerously slow while college students are driving dangerously fast and both disobeying all traffic laws?

EDIT.

We have the old people. We have soccer moms. We have the Mexicans from the DMVs who barely know how to drive. There are barely any colleges in my area that students who could afford cars go to, but that's made up for by the high school students.

Don't forget about the rich assholes who drive like they own the road and run all the red lights.

I think this wins for worst driver of the year:

I was sitting at a red light on the way to work a couple weeks ago. I see a school bus driving down the street to my right. The light changes and I have the green, but I see the school bus run the red light and make a right turn. Not just speeding through the red light, but speeding through AND turning. I didn't notice if there were kids in it, I was too shocked at the whole sight.

Don't forget Route 22.

I'm from PA originally. We have an idea of how to drive and also have roads that aren't highways.

I never minded 287 on the way to and from college. I don't use it too much now though.

287 as you head through Middlesex towards US1 and US9 and then onto the 440 into Staten Island is a disaster.

Where did you school?

Cool, my first apartment after college was in Bloomfield. Montclair is such a cool town.

I never minded that part on my few trips to SI.

I went to Drew, up in Madison.

Atlanta has THE worst drivers. There is no contest, all of you are fighting for second. We suck.

I never thought of this, but Arizona has the 'perfect storm.'

-Regular, everyday driver problems
-A large population of elderly drivers
-A significant influx of uninsured drivers who are illegal entrants (and thereby not particularly well-versed in US law nor willing to stop and discuss a minor accident with authorities)
-The huge winter-visitor crowd, usually consisting of elderly drivers in large vehicles, motorhomes, and RVs.

I acctually saw some ladydiveing down 7th street ~Indian School that had Parkinsons. Doing 15 MPH in the right lane shakeing like a herion addict.

It was very very sad. I am not sure who is at fault either. Her for driving, her family for letting her drive her doctors or, the government?

All I know is that their is NO WAY IN HELL SHE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO DRIVE
