Back in August my older brother bought me a copy of SSHE and told me to check out 2+2.com. At that time I had played some hold 'em (caused it looked like such a cool game on TV), but never really thought about winning at it. SSHE really opened my eyes about what I could learn to play poker well, but this forum is what pushed me over the hump.

I remember one of the first threads I saw said "60K in 60 days." I couldn't believe it. At first I thought it was a joke. When I read it and finally accepted it, something triggered and I was instantly determined to play this game well (thanks Gonores /images/graemlins/laugh.gif). About a week afterwards I deposited $200 and played some $.50/$1. 7 months later I have played through every limit except one - $15/$30. Tonight I finally hit my target for bankroll and now I am drinking. Tomorrow I will make the jump and hope for continued success.

I owe all of this to Sklansky, Malmuth, Miller and all of the posters at 2+2. From the bottom of my heart I thank everyone here who taught me a little bit about poker and helped me achieve something I thought impossible this time last year.

Well I guess I am glad for that, but the main reason for the post is because I owe a LOT to the posters on this board. Thanks guys.

Dang, 7 months? I'm going on 7 months and I will just be moving up to 3/6. I started at .05/.1 and worked my way up from $25 but I would rather be at 15/30 /images/graemlins/frown.gif

O well, hopefully I will very improved by the time I actually get to 15/30. Could you post how you went through each level perhaps, like how long, how many BB you had for each? And congrats.

the first rule of two plus two...... You don't talk about 2+2

The second rule of two plus two is YOU DON'T TALK ABOUT TWO PLUS TWO

Haha I am glad you read this - I remember when I was putzing around in the 5/10 full game above my bankroll seeing a player named FSUplayer on every table I would join. I didn't understand it. How could one man play more than one game at once?!?

Well I basically got lucky at 3/6, cause I started playing it with only around $1000. I just felt I was ready. Most of the year I played 3/6, and for the last couple months I 8-tabled it. Moved up to 5/10 short, 10/20 short and 15/30 respectively with 400bb as a bankroll.
