The thing about her is that she is absolutely gorgeous but not that hot. I think her appearance actually suffers in the pics where she's trying to look hot.

She is sexy as hell, but I've never really listened to her music. Now her white counterpart Vanessa Carlton I have listened to a lot and quite enjoy. Piano = awesome.

She is off to a good start in her career and she has a lot of potential. I like her music alot. I think I will go put her CD in now TY.

No.

AK has a great voice and I like the kind of old-school soul feel on a lot of her stuff. Certainly as a pure singer she has the best voice of any mainstream female I can think of right now. Also, she gets props from me for being an excellent pianist.

I'd like to hear who people think a better female musician is these days than Alicia Keys.

I don't mean to gang up on you stewart, but the thread is about musical talent. AK is an amazing singer/pianist, and that would clearly put her ahead of singing and rump-shaking Beyonce when it comes to who's a greater musician.

Now, that's not to say that 99% of the OOT population would rather bang Beyonce, but that's a whole different argument.

as a person who has liked some vanessa carlton music in the past, i can say with absolute certainty that she is nowhere near as talented as alicia keys. im not even an alicia keys fan, but she is good.

I don't disagree; she's not "hot" in the conventional sense, but by god is she ever fine.
