My thread's late, but it's close enough. Anyway, tonight's show is going to be the $500 min NL game, so expect the usual array of large pots, running the river multiple times, and other good stuff.

Is this on yet??

Kevmath

I don't think he wants to go broke $500 at a time. The cast of characters at the $500 game have created some 5K+ pots in the past.

Is this broadcast expensive for the casino which is why they only do 4 hours wednesday thru saturday? They can't afford to do it longer? Just curious why they couldn't just do a live stream 24/7 assuming they do already have the bandwidth in the first place...could explain the subscription costs for the archive too... hmmm

PGarlic

I'll try to not get too attached to one player, seat 8 broke my heart last time.

edit: ^^^^^ Is that bumble bee tuna?

BBtunaBB
03-18-2005, 09:29 PM
Seat 8 was the man...I was sad to still see him playing and the broadcast had already ended not being able to watch him throw those chips around making those great all in plays...

Kevmath
03-18-2005, 09:30 PM
The plan all along was to charge for the broadcast after a certain amount of time. Also, you need to pay someone to put up the hole cards, operate cameras, commentate (if needed) and that surely takes up a bit of manpower.

EDIT: Here's a
link (http://www.lvbusinesspress.com/articles/2005/02/01/news/news05.txt) to the original article, the Bike was hoping for 20,000 paying subscribers, for $4.8m a year in revenue if projections held up.

BBtunaBB
03-18-2005, 09:32 PM
I thought I heard someone talking about optical card readers...didnt know the cards are punched in manually...still could watch without knowing the hole cards as long as the zoom works so we can see the cards on the board...just a thought

BB unless your being sarcastic.... Im sorry but that was a very solid play with that flop that preflop play and that draw and that button.

BBtunaBB
03-18-2005, 10:45 PM
I thought playing SOLID was betting when you actually had something...not playing position and trying to steal the pot

03-18-2005, 10:47 PM

Rocaix
03-18-2005, 10:57 PM
What was seat 2 thinking? What would Mo raise with that he would lay down to a reraise other than a pure bluff. That play reeks of your typical party SSNL fish reckless agression.

Until Stevie returns, we have seat six.

Rocaix
03-18-2005, 11:07 PM
I disagree it is a bad play, he wins the minimum when he's ahead, and loses the maximum when behind. The only real value in this play is that it may get KQ or possibly AK to fold.

Eventually? I think the brick wall (seat 9) is what set him off. It's only a matter of time until seat 2 doubles up or doubles down. Hopefully he lays a horrendous beat on someone and gets another player on tilt.

Seat 2 bet $50, called by seat 4 (and maybe somebody else)
Seat 4 bet $125, called by seat 2
Seat 2 bet $1k on river, called by seat 4

Dunno if there was a PFR, so that would make it ~$2500.

zaxx19

Bad call by the straight then...he doubled the pot on the river with a paired board...doesnt seem like a bluff to me.

I dunno. Although this concept is quite interesting and I enjoy watching the games, I wouldn't pay a single penny to watch any show or rerun or whateva. I'd rather just play myself.
