I like Counting Crows but not everyone does. (In case someone drags up an old post of mine, I was joking in that post. Not in this one, however).

Bad Religion

'The Empire Strikes First' is a very good CD. I also like 'Recipe for Hate' and 'No Substance'. Angry and intelligent music. Play it too loud in the red states and you should prepare yourself for an ass kicking, I think. Anti-Republican, anti-God, misanthropic music. Suits me very well.

Try an interesting group named Morphine. Their lead signer and bandleader is now dead, so you have a limited selection. Interesting stuff. Try the album titled "Good." (I think, or at least that's a track)
