Early in a 30+3 MTT. Villian seemed normal. I didn't want to build a big pot preflop with AQo on the button, so I figured calling was better than folding. Turn is an easy laydown, right?

if you are going to fold to this raise, check behind on the turn.

Well you've put just under half your stack in, for me its damn close to a pot committed situation but obviously it is making me sick. I think I raise to 135 on the flop and then lead out 225-250 on the turn, accomplishes about the same but allows you to get away easier if he comes over top.

Also don't underestimate the psychological effect of betting a number that has to be typed in. It looks like it wants a call and you can usually get by with shaving a few chips off of a bet to accomplish the same thing as a its full equivalent. If I believe the players at my table are paying attention I show down good hands where I typed in the bet as often as I can to set up the bluff for later.

Exercise: Next time you intend to bet 200 make it 196 or 199 and see what difference it makes. Every chip counts right?
