What's the best web design software that I can download for just a simple project? Any suggestions? Thanks.

If you are CSS centric, TopStyle Pro (Bradbury Software) is inexpensive and loaded with nicities like 'html tidy'.

P.S. I agree that Dreamweaver is the best web dev package. However, it is about 8x more expensive that TopStyle. Given your stated requirements, I recommend TopStyle. If you plan to evolve quickly into more complexity and sophistication, go ahead and spend the dough on Dreamweaver.

I'm reading SIMPLE as the key word here. How about free stuff like:
Ist page (http://www.evrsoft.com/download.shtml)
Open Office (http://www.openoffice.org)
or use Notepad and DIY with help from w3school (http://www.w3schools.com/default.asp)

Of course the pros use Dreamweaver, but FrontPage works, too.
If you don't want to spend any money and really don't know anything about web design, you can WYSIWYG it with MS Word, PowerPoint or Publisher.
