The worst play Ive ever seen

I played in a stud 8 sit and go tonight and played against the worst players that I have ever played against. There were all kinds of horrible plays, but this one took the cake.

Maybe he thought the river 9 gave him a low or a straight.

More likely he was probably just drunk. I had a hand last night where I guy called my bets on every street with me showing showing 3 to a wheel (including an ace) and another low card. I never paired up but his pair of fives took high. /images/graemlins/crazy.gif

The worst play ever is when someone calls a river bet when they can't beat what their opponent is showing.
